My best tip:
When baking, line up your ingredients before you start. As you add each ingredient, put it back where it belongs. Either that, or keep all the ingredients you haven’t used yet on the left side of the bowl, then switch it to the right side when you’ve used it. It saves a lot of headaches, wondering if you already added the baking powder or not!http://www.chow.com/stories/11219 top 10 titles for cookbooks that novices can usehttp://www.carmascookery.com/tips/tips-f… tips for novice cooks

What kind of cooking tips do you need? If you are wanting to learn different techniques, you can find information on grilling, roasting, sauteing, searing and braising on my website at:http://www.cooking-is-easy-and-fun.com
You will find recipes for herb roast chicken, pork carnitas, grilled cheddar burgers, seared pork tenderloin, grilled salmon and shrimp, or sauteed green beans. The recipes are easy and provide enough details that even beginners can make the tasty recipes. You will also find great recipes for chocolate desserts, side dishes and salads. Hope that helps!

I was expecting more details as it is such a huge question, so I’ll just go for it.
If you make lasagne with dry pasta sheets, leave it to rest overnight before cooking (the pasta absorbs moisture in the mix and it cooks much better)
If you make something like cheese and onion pasties, freeze them before cooking if you have extra because pastry does not re heat well especially in a microwave.
Curries are rich and delicious when made with coconut milk.
Sautee to seal meat before casseroles etc to seal in the juices and stop the meat losing flavour and becoming dry.

For what? Get yourself a cookbook and start reading. At the library they have many books that you could get info for free.
