I bought a pork roast, and it’s has strings wrapped around it like a net. Do I remove this before cooking or after?

No!
The strings hold the roast together while it is cooking.
After cooking, you can remove the strings, or just remove them as you cut the roast.
Caveat: if you plan to shred a pot roast, like for pulled pork or taco/enchilada meat, then it would be easier to remove the strings before cooking.

No, you shouldn’t remove the ties (strings) the butcher put on until after the meat is roasted. He put them there after trimming the meat of excess fat/connective tissue and bone, and the strings hold the meat together in a “roast” shape. If they weren’t there the roast would just flop open.
Once the meat is cooked, the strings should be cut off so nobody gets any accidental dental floss. The roast, when cooked, will hold it’s shape just fine.

Remove it after. It holds the roast together.
