Have you try Sanyo ECJ-D100S 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker/Steamer, or Zojrushi or panasonic?

You just need a standard rice cooker, no fancy crap. One cup of white rice needs one cup water, one cup brown rice needs 1 1/2 to 2 cups water.
If its congee, one cup white rice needs two cups water, one cup brown rice needs 2 1/2 cup to 3 cups water.

I have a plain rice cooker, nothing fancy, and I love it. Put water, rice and a little salt, butter in it and start another dish. they do come with instructions and receipes. don’t put money into extras you don’t need. it’s just more to go wrong or not work properly.

It’s a rice cooker, not a car.
