If I Wanna Make Rice In A Rice Cooker, What Is The Ratio Of Water To Rice?

I have a six cup rice cooker (looks like this: http://www.aromaco.com/images/products/r… and I made rice twice in it last night. The first time was too dry and the second was too wet. Help!

If rice is relatively new say 3-4 month old ( you can guess this by its appearence, more whitish and shiny in appearence) – 1 and three fourth cups of water to 1 cup of rice
If rice is relatively old say more than 4 month old, which appears dull and less whitish – add 2 or 2 and one quarter cups of water to one cup of rice.

Add two cups of water for every cup of rice. You may have to add a little more water depending on the type of rice u are cooking.

put your middle finger at the top of the rice and the water should be over the rice as high as the first knuckle line …

I use the boil-in-bag rice. *poof* instant rice.

2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice, add a little oil and salt it tastes better

Usually your rice cooker comes with instructions, so you can check those. I use a 1 to 1 ratio in the cooking vessel itself, then half a cup of water in the outer chamber. This is for white rice. For brown rice, increase the amount of water a little.

for every 1 cup rice, you need 11/2 cup water. So the rice is firm and not too soggy.
